When my daughter took the Circus Tots Class last winter, my then not-quite-two year old would sit in his stroller and watch. All he wanted to do was be out there – balancing peacock feathers, jumping and tumbling on the mats, throwing scarves up in the air and trying to catch them (not to mention climbing the rope!). At the time I thought, “Wouldn’t it be cool to have a parent-child circus class for him?”
It’s Here! The Philadelphia School of Circus Arts has just announced a new class for toddlers age 18 months – 3 years old.
The class is called Gymfoolery and introduces the basics of gymnastics and movement in the circus arts studio. Classes begin with circle time rhymes and end with parachute play with lots of time on the colorful shape mats in between.
The 45 minute class is offered Tuesday or Thursday mornings and runs for 8 weeks.
The winter session (starts January 4th) schedule is up here and lists not only the Gymfoolery class but also classes for kids of all ages and adults of all skill levels. Take a look!
