This Weekend: Back to Back Festivals!
On Saturday, Mt. Airy Day celebrates its 40th anniversary with fun for the whole family. Cliveden will play host to plenty of vendors selling their wares… from food to jewelry and beyond. The “Best Music in Philly” will keep visitors moving, and a MAD Kid Zone will occupy the kids with pony rides, games, a moon bounce, giant slide, face painting, and arts & crafts. This year, Mt. Airy Day has even “gone green”, with Bike Valet Parking in front of the Sacred Heart Manor on Germantown Avenue.

Sunday looks to be a blooming good day for the 14th annual Chestnut Hill Home & Garden Festival. Tomatoes, seedlings, orchids and hanging baskets will line the Avenue. Live music, sneak peak tours of the new Weaver’s Way Coop, vendor shopping and al fresco dining will keep visitors of all ages happy, but the youngest visitors will be most impressed with amusement rides, face painting, arts & crafts and some furry friends from the Elmwood Park Zoo. Not to be outdone, the Chestnut Hill Festival is also greening up the Avenue, with GRINCH (Green in Chestnut Hill) brining in over 20 earth-friendly vendors to round out the lineup.
