swimming pools: philadelphia style

wheee! the big slide at flourtown swim club!

It’s happened again. It’s the unofficial start to summer, and the pools are starting to open!  There were 69 pools open across the 10 districts in Philadelphia last year. Admission to Philadelphia Public Pools is FREE.  Here’s a list of the public pools that kids will be splashing around in across the city this year:

And as you figure out your own summer swimming plans, please consider contributing to the Splash and Summer Fund that keeps ALL of the city’s functioning public pools open:
If you’re in the Northwest, there are also private and semi-private alternatives for families looking for swim teams, baby pools, snack bars and other amenities.  Here’s a start list of some local swim clubs that families in the area have enjoyed.  If you can add to the list, please leave a comment below, and we’ll be sure to update.

I am trying to locate a website or contact for the Charter Court at East Falls community pool but I cannot find anything. Does anyone have info on that? Or are there any other community pools/inexpensive pools in the East Falls area? thank you.

Despite being so old, this is a useful post that came up in my googling, so thanks!

I just called Charter Court at East Falls, the former School Lane House now under new ownership, and they’re not offering community pool memberships this year. He did say “you never know what’ll happen for next year”, for what that’s worth.
