New Year’s Eve may be the traditional party night for grown-ups, but there’s plenty of kid-friendly New Year’s fun to be had in the city as we head into 2015. Our top picks include:

New Years EVE: :Countdown to Noon at Nest

Little revelers will enjoy a DJ, Photo Booth, and decorate-your-own 2015 hats and noisemakers. Snacks and sparkling apple cider will be on hand for when they’re all danced out! 10am-noon.

New Year’s Eve: Countdown to Noon at Please Touch Museum

If you’re up for an even larger venue, take the kids down the the Please Touch Museum for their annual Countdown to Noon. This year will be a double celebration of both the New Year and the 150th anniversary of Alice in Wonderland. There are even two countdowns… noon and 1pm. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time so your little ones aren’t stuck in line waiting.

New Year’s Eve: Fireworks at Penn’s Landing

Stake your claim along the river and take the family to enjoy a free fireworks show over the water. The 6pm spectacular is designed for families who aren’t quite ready to stay up for the midnight version. Here’s a tip sheet on best viewing spots.
New Year’s Eve: Party at Teenagers Inc.

Has your kid aged out of the countdown to noon celebrations? Are they ready for some New Year’s Eve nighttime fun of their own? Teenagers Inc. in Chestnut Hill will host a New Year’s Party from 6:30-10pm, including a DJ & snacks. Teens are asked to “dress their best” and come ready to celebrate.

New Year’s Day: Mummers Parade

Of COURSE that’s our top pick for New Year’s Day in Philly. Did you know that mummers celebrations date back to early Egypt, Rome & Greece? Or that this year marks the 114th anniversary of the parade in Philadelphia. Fancy Brigades, String Bands, Comics & Wench Brigrades will stroll through the city in their New Year’s finery starting at 10am. Weather looks cold, but sunny!
