We had to include at least one, there’s much more than egg hunting on tap this weekend!
Come spot your favorite characters at Comic Con right here in the City of Brotherly Love. This three-day event features multiple guest appearances from Star Trek characters to Power Rangers. Kids 10 and under are free. Hours: 4 to 9 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
It’s the long-awaited opening day for ‘Waltz in the Woods’: a natural materials installation constructed by sculptor Patrick Dougherty. These amazing 26-foot tall structures made completely from willow sticks and branches make your trip to the Arboretum a must this Easter weekend. Opening day in Saturday offers explorers a Guided Sculpture Tour, a Sculpture Scavenger Hunt and design-your-own nature crafts.
This magnificent performance is a truly posh way to spend your Saturday afternoon. Fancy Nancy will make your petit one feel fabulous as Nancy goes on stage for a school recital. Not to be missed!
Come find eggs at Awbury’s sprawling arboretum. Children should bring their own basket or bag. Will you fill yours all the way to the top? 10 a.m., with coffee and light refreshments available for purchase.
This March to End Poverty is a great way to use the holiday weekend to fight for what’s right. On Saturday, the first day of Passover and the day before Easter, POWER clergy leaders and members of their congregations will join the MLK DARE (Day of Action, Resistance, and Empowerment) Coalition in a march for: $15 minimum wage, stronger protections for those seeking to unionize, and a call for full employment. BYOS (bring your own signs)!
